Switched-on Blogger (2.0)

Well, it seems we made the switch, but darned if I could tell the difference. Where's the cool drop-down selectors for the archives and for the blogroll?

I'll check out the Template area, maybe there's something there. This whole widget business looks interesting, also. If any of our readers have some good tips about using the new Blogger, especially the widget feature, please comment.

Oh, Dinah is under the weather so we might not make our podcast tomorrow.

Check out this "online book in progress" Dummies Guide to Google Blogger.

I hope you feel better soon, Dinah! No 10-year old cans of soup, either . . . .

Unrelated, but maybe it'll cheer you up - I ordered your book (I remember your warning about language and situations, though.)

I need a good read to curl up with.

GAH, the excerpt at Amazon ends just when I'm getting close to seeing if she asks Dr. K about the situation or not. Way to leave me hanging, there.

Lol . . .

Sarebear,
Clink did indeed try to give me the 10 year old can of soup.
I hope you like Monday at The Charm. Beware of the language...oy.
Podcast coming, it's just a cold.

Well, I was drawn in to the story so much, in the excerpt on Amazon, that I was highly annoyed when it abruptly ended. Just when it was getting REALLY good, lol! Sort of like when the timing on when TIVO stops recording a show is a bit off from the network's time, and you lose the last two minutes of a show . . . lol.

She tried to give you back the can of soup you gave her 10 years ago? Very funny . . . Instead of pass the duck (or buck!), it's pass the can/soup? Or fossil. Teehee. If Roy gets sick next, he'd better watch out for it . . . (word verify was vriny, that sounds like a descriptor for how that soup would taste/smell about now lol)

Well, I finally switched our template over to Blogger 2.0. Pretty painless, actually. There are a number of tweaks I've already done, and more I'd like to do. If anyone knows how to do the following, please let me know...

If you click on, say, the Xanax post, and go to the backlinks section, you will see linked descriptions of the backlinks. Also, on the main index page, after each article, it says "# comments", where # is the number of comments.

I'd like to make it so that the list of backlinks show up on the main page (not just the post page). How to do that? Or, failing that, I'd like for the # of backlinks to be shown on the main page. I messed around with the template, but couldn't get either of these tweaks to work.

Help appreciated. (and, again, thank you Peter for your comment... I suggest more technical info like this in your book... particularly, a list of all the New Blogger variables and other CSS stuff so that tinkerers can learn how to tinker without wrecking the template.
